Greatest Hits is a film directed by Nicolás Pereda, made in Mexico in 2012. After 15 years away, Emilio returns to the Mexico City home of his estranged wife Teresa and their son Gabino, whose presence quickly disrupts their routines while Gabino continues his precarious work selling compilation CDs on the street. Just as this story of an absent father seems to settle into place, the film begins to repeat, revise and ultimately dismantle itself. Bringing together actors, characters and situations from his earlier films, Pereda turns the family drama into a mischievous investigation of performance itself, exploring what happens when the people in front of the camera cease to be distinguishable from the roles they play.
