The Guildhall Symphony Orchestra performs a programme spanning three centuries of works at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Guest conductor Eivind Gullberg Jensen, Artistic and General Director of Bergen National Opera and Chief Conductor of the Noord Nederlands Orkest, leads Shostakovich's tender Piano Concerto No 2 and Sibelius' brooding First Symphony. Before he takes to the podium, Guildhall conductor Antoine Veillerette leads Hannah Kendall's The Spark Catchers, inspired by a poem about the 1888 Bow Matchgirls' Strike. Tickets are from £14 and should be reserved in advance.
