Hana Korea is a film inspired by real events, following Hyesun, a young North Korean refugee newly arrived in South Korea, as she struggles to adapt to her new life and find her place in society. It was written and directed by Danish filmmaker Frederik Sølberg in his narrative feature debut, with a screenplay co-written with Sharon Choi, known for her work with Bong Joon Ho on Parasite. Kim Minha stars as Hyesun, delivering a performance that blurs the boundary between fiction and documentary. The Korean-Danish co-production also features Kim Joo-ryoung and An Seo-hyun.
