A 90-minute guided walk through the Smithfield area, an area packed with medieval and Tudor history. The London Museum runs it, with a guide leading visitors past famous landmarks and into the fascinating and surprising stories behind them. The tour explores the lives of past Londoners, covering the dissolution of the monasteries, the plague and public executions, and hears stories of William Wallace, Henry VIII and even Sherlock Holmes. Stops include the Charterhouse, St-Bartholomew-the-Great, one of London's oldest churches, and the famous meat market.
