A jazz double bill at World Heart Beat Embassy Gardens, opening with a young London quartet and headlined by a quintet led by a Grammy Award-winning saxophonist. Nnamdi Nnachi-Cole Quartet opens the night: the young pianist, trained at the Julian Joseph Jazz Academy, leads a band with Ellis Gates on drums, Hass Richards on bass and Kassa Green Jaksci on alto saxophone. Headlining is Jean Toussaint's JT5, blending swinging, soulful, bluesy and funky contemporary jazz, drawing on Toussaint's years with Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers and his standing as a composer, bandleader and educator.
