A chamber music concert by a string quartet at Wigmore Hall, pairing three works for four string instruments. The Jerusalem Quartet - Alexander Pavlovsky and Sergei Bresler on violin, Alexander Gordon on viola and Kyril Zlotnikov on cello - play Mozart's String Quartet No. 17 in B flat K458 'The Hunt', Bartók's String Quartet No. 6 BB119 and Ravel's String Quartet in F. The concert runs about two hours with an interval, and its programme places Mozart beside Bartók's final quartet, written before its composer found refuge in the United States, and closes with Ravel. Critics have praised the ensemble's 'immaculate, spirited playing' and its 'gold blend' of 'passion, precision, warmth'.
