A concert of 18th-century music on the myth of Ariadne, tracing its narrative variations and its path through Europe's musical capitals from London to Vienna via Naples and Dresden. Mezzo-soprano Josè Maria Lo Monaco performs with the Coro e Orchestra Ghislieri under conductor Giulio Prandi. The programme includes works by Francesco Bartolomeo Conti, Alessandro Scarlatti, Giovanni Alberto Ristori, Benedetto Marcello, Nicola Porpora, Johann Adolf Hasse and Joseph Haydn, including Haydn's Arianna a Naxos. The concert lasts approximately two hours, including an interval.
