A book club meeting discussing 'Puhdas viiruinen elämä' by Olli Jalonen, open to adults and held at the Finnish Church in London or online via Zoom. The novel is set in 1918 and tells, through the voices of a small town's residents, of good intentions and their often ugly consequences, framed by the stubborn love story of Kerttu and Kalle. Its author is a two-time Finlandia Prize winner, and the book is described as a stirring novel about a fervour for a cause that destroys and heals. Readers are invited to come and discuss the book with others.
