Mat Green and Andy Turner play traditional English dance tunes and songs as a duo of fiddle and anglo-concertina, melodeon and vocals. Both are founder members of Magpie Lane, and they specialise in little-known tunes from eighteenth and nineteenth century village musicians' tunebooks, interspersed with songs from English traditional sources. Their debut album as a duo, 'Time for a Stottycake', was released in January 2024 on Wild Goose records.
