A mathematical physics seminar taking place in the Huxley Building at Imperial College London's South Kensington Campus, open to all and free to attend, with no tickets needed as it is drop-in. The speaker is Ginestra Bianconi from QMUL. Her talk, 'Gravity from Entropy', presents a recently proposed theory that derives gravity from a geometric quantum relative entropy coupling matter fields and spacetime geometry. The theory recovers General Relativity at low coupling, introduces a new field associated with an emergent positive cosmological constant, and offers perspectives on cosmology, the dark sector and quantum gravity.
