An art exhibition of original prints by the French artist Henri Matisse, running under the title "Matisse In Print: The Evolution of Line and Colour" and opening on 6 November. It brings together original etchings, lithographs and aquatints from 1923 to 1954, alongside 35 lithographic reproductions of his late paper cut-outs presented by Hayward Gallery Touring, part of London's Southbank Centre, and a collection of original Matisse exhibition posters sourced by the gallery. Among the highlights are prints such as Odalisque au Magnolia, Repos sur la banquette and Nadia au regard attentif, plus all four Blue Nudes, The Snail and The Sorrow of the King. The show traces Matisse's exploration of line, colour and form through print, revealing a quieter, more intimate side of an artist best known for his extraordinary use of colour.
