Mother Russia is a dark comedy play making its UK premiere in London. Written by multi award-winning writer Lauren Yee, it follows old friends Evgeny and Dmitri in St Petersburg in the nineties, who become embroiled in racketeering and espionage as capitalism rises from the ashes of communism, before things go wrong when Evgeny falls for one of their marks. Directed by Oscar Toeman, the off-Broadway smash-hit from New York's Signature Theater delivers biting comedy and clever social commentary on the realities of the free market in a changing world.
