Mr Loverman is a stage adaptation of Bernardine Evaristo's best-selling novel, coming to the stage for the first time. Adapted by Natasha Gordon and directed by Paulette Randall, it follows seventy-four-year-old Barrington Walker, an upstanding member of his Hackney community who has secretly been in a relationship with his best friend Morris for sixty years. Spanning six decades from Antigua to modern-day London, it explores the British Caribbean community in a funny, heartwarming, and life-affirming story of family, love, and choosing yourself. Danny Sapani stars as the charming Barry, with Jo Martin as his wife Carmel and Gary Beadle as Morris.
