A seminar titled "Multispecies warfare in Palestine-Israel" at the Department of Geography. The speaker is Irus Braverman, SUNY Distinguished Professor and a Harvard Radcliffe Fellow, whose talk draws on ethnographic research and her own experiences growing up in Palestine-Israel. She explores how nonhuman animals have become active participants in Israeli warfare and how warfare has been shaped by their presence, introducing the concept of "multispecies warfare." Examples include sheep seizing territory through grazing, donkeys sustaining mobility under siege, and camel movement criminalised through conservation laws.
