An evening with the Nu Civilisation Orchestra, a five-piece ensemble led by Peter Edwards and featuring Mark Kavuma on trumpet, performing live to John Akomfrah's documentary 'The Stuart Hall Project'. Marking 100 years since the birth of Miles Davis, the musicians play his soundtrack live against the 2013 film's portrait of Stuart Hall, the co-founder of New Left Review and a leading voice in British Cultural Studies. Layered with archival footage and Hall's own reflections, the film explores identity, race and belonging, with the live score deepening its resonance. Note that the event has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, with tickets refunded in full.
