Okonski is a meditative piano trio performing live at The Jazz Cafe, with Sol Paradise on the bill. The group makes improvised, analogue-recorded pieces in which melody, space and restraint carry equal weight. It was formed through years of informal playing within the orbit of Durand Jones & The Indications and is led by classically trained pianist Steve Okonski, whose work has been released via Colemine Records on albums including Magnolia and Entrance Music. The band may appeal to fans of Sven Wunder, Pale Jay and Surprise Chef.
