An online class introducing a classic of Marxism, this session devoted to Lenin's 'Imperialism, the Highest Stage of Capitalism', exploring the links between economics, capital accumulation and colonial expansion. It is run by the Marx Memorial Library, whose tutor Nina Hilton explains why the text was written, the effect it had on its readers then and since, and its lasting relevance today. The class takes place on Zoom, with a resource sheet sent in advance and questions discussed with tutors.
