A free, family-friendly open day at a museum in Tottenham where you can explore a hidden piece of local heritage. The Markfield Beam Engine Museum, run with Haringey Council behind its programme, celebrates the history of sanitation with a Victorian steam engine from 1888. The engine, still fully functional, once formed part of a sewage treatment works that saved thousands of lives. The day offers free kids activities and guided tours to inspire young engineers.
