An evening talk at Tate Modern's Starr Cinema with artist Oscar Murillo, joined by curator Emily Pethick and Tate curator Rosalie Doubal. Murillo's practice spans painting, installation, performance and participation, including his 2024 Turbine Hall installation The flooded garden. The conversation covers his ideas on community and shared culture, bodies of water, his 'social mapping' grown from the 15-year project Frequencies, and his painterly abstraction. The talk also marks the UK launch of the book Social Cataracts (2026), edited by Emily Pethick and Sarah Demeuse, which surveys his work from 2019 to 2026.
