A biopic of Estonian Olympic track bicycle racer Erika Salumäe, who overcomes a painful childhood, personal hardships, and the pressures of the declining Soviet regime to become an Olympic champion. Driven by an intense desire to succeed, and to be loved, she transforms from a troubled young woman into a national hero. The film was made by German Golub. It is presented by the London Baltic Film Festival, the UK's only celebration of cinema from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, whose sixth edition is supported by the three countries' embassies and their national film institutes.
