PlayWorks at Pitzhanger: Free Family Play is three days of free, child-led outdoor play in the walled front garden of Pitzhanger, where children can build, invent and explore with giant blocks, boxes, fabric and other loose parts at their own pace. It is delivered by Outdoor People, a Hackney-based organisation helping children and families connect with nature through play, together with their experienced team of Playworkers. It is connected to the PlayWorks Studio, the independent successor to Assemble Play and linked to the Turner Prize-winning collective Assemble, which creates playful environments where children explore, build and imagine in freely chosen ways. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout, advance registration is free and recommended, and drop-in visitors are also welcome.
