Samira is a new stage play at the Dorfman theatre. British-Lebanese writer Carmen Nasr makes her National Theatre debut with this political play, directed by Emily Burns and starring May Calamawy. Inspired by true events, it follows London academics thrown into crisis when a Syrian blogger they follow vanishes in Damascus during the Arab Spring, raising questions of authenticity, political upheaval and identity.
