Sew Appealing is a six-week series of beginner-friendly sewing workshops, held every Wednesday, in which participants work toward completing a sewing project of their own choosing. It is run by Art in the Docks as part of its Creative Health and Wellbeing programme, funded by Newham's People Powered Places with support from Notting Hill Genesis's Love Where You Live Fund and the Royal Docks Trust. Each two-hour session builds on the last, moving from taking measurements and pattern drafting to seam finishes and the final garment, and attending all six classes is required. All materials are provided, and space is limited due to the number of machines.
