Shift /Shape Workshops is a four-session participatory painting and drawing project held at SPACE Ilford, free and open to all, running on Tuesdays in November 2026. Artist Sophie Lourdes Knight, a multidisciplinary artist born in California who studied at the Slade School of Fine Art, begins each project with a large-scale, partially developed painting that participants enter and transform through playful prompts such as add, extend, connect, repeat, obscure, transform and respond. No previous painting experience is needed, and the group builds a shared, evolving artwork across the four sessions. Attendees should book only if they can join all four sessions.
