A live concert in which Sholto's twelve-piece group performs the music of David Axelrod, the cinematic soul producer whose work has been sampled by Madlib, DJ Shadow and Dr. Dre. Sholto, a British musician who began his career in 2013 and has worked with producers like Nick Waterhouse, Inflo and Dan Carey, anchors the performance on drums, bringing Axelrod's legacy to life onstage. The evening promises psychedelia, jazz, soul and the soundtrack sounds of the 60s and 70s, with a line-up spanning strings, horns, keys, vocals and a narrator. Axelrod, a visionary composer, producer and arranger, was known for blending jazz, rock, soul and classical influences and shaped artists from Lou Rawls to The Electric Prunes.
