The speaker is Andrew Chingos, a PhD student in the School of Earth & Environmental Sciences at the University of St Andrews. He presents a simple physical theory linking changes in tropical land relative humidity to the land–ocean warming contrast, yielding constrained estimates of future humidity decreases and suggesting climate models underestimate them. The talk is open to all.
