The Adventures of Prince Achmed is Lotte Reiniger's 1926 animation, an enchanting amalgamation of stories from the Arabian Nights animated in cut paper silhouettes and an exquisite artefact of Weimar Cinema. Taken from The Arabian Nights, a wicked sorcerer and the beautiful prince Achmed battle one another in a series of wondrous adventures. The film melds international folk art traditions with the technical possibilities of a new medium.
