The Café is a piece of new writing performed as part of the VOILA! Festival at the Etcetera Theatre in Camden. Written by Roccia Zhang and directed by Siyao Wu, it follows four people in a small London café who, as money, visas and confidence run out, become one another's temporary shelter. The play explores the human need for connection, asking what home can mean when it is no longer nearby and who gets to feel safe in a city that is always moving. It lasts 60 minutes, is suitable for all ages and is performed in Chinese, English, Farsi and Portuguese.
