A public panel discussion, in person on campus and streamed online, on the growing challenges to peace and democracy across the Middle East. It is hosted by the Atlantic Fellows for Social and Economic Equity, a fellowship programme at the London School of Economics and Political Science, as part of events marking the programme's tenth anniversary. Speakers include Rula Daood and Alon-Lee Green, co-leaders of an Arab-Jewish political party, political scientist Yonatan Levi and Professor Mary Kaldor, with the conversation chaired by Professor Armine Ishkanian. The panel reflects on developments since the Hamas attacks of 7 October 2023 and the Israeli military campaign in Gaza, and explores how political movements, civil society and grassroots initiatives are working towards peace and democracy.
