The Death of the Clinic by Benoît Loiseau Book Launch + Talk

A book launch and talk marking the publication of The Death of the Clinic: Radical Experiments in the Art of Medicine. Writer Benoît Loiseau discusses his first book, published by Fitzcarraldo Editions, in conversation with journalist and author Amelia Abraham. The book is a group biography whose five subjects are experimental health clinics that transformed medicine: a HIV research facility in New York City, a psychiatric clinic in France, a feminist-led health centre in Geneva, a sex clinic in Berlin and a preventive health centre in Peckham. Loiseau's investigation draws on his own encounters with medical care and interludes addressed to his mother, a health worker who shaped his life.
