The Weight Of Standing is a world premiere theatre performance celebrating the lives, resilience and enduring legacy of Black older people in Britain. Through intimate storytelling, movement and music, it explores forms of resistance, struggle and survival that have shaped generations, with stories of friendship, family and community at its heart. The work reflects on the strength carried within Black older bodies and the histories they hold, honouring voices that have too often gone unheard. Bold, moving and deeply human, it is a celebration of endurance, memory and collective care.
