A volunteer working party at Lady Gilberts Orchard, a hands-on outdoor session with jobs like clearing around fruit tree trunks, mulching with bracken, removing plants overgrowing a phoenix tree, digging out invasive saplings and finishing a dead hedges tidy-up. It is organised by HNC Harrow Nature Conservation, and the orchard is part of that group, with all participants fully insured. Helpers should bring a packed lunch and their own gloves and secateurs if possible, while all other tools are provided; anyone who cannot stay the whole time is still welcome. Free parking is available in the lower car park of the hotel, and the 258 bus to Watford stops at Clamp Hill outside The Hare Inn.
