A science lecture asking whether a zombie apocalypse could really happen, exploring how viruses can change human behaviour and whether a human rage virus is possible. The speaker is Professor Greg Towers, a Professor of Molecular Virology at Queen Mary University of London, who will draw on viral evolution and his work on pandemic virus transmission. He will discuss which viruses have come closest to a zombie-like scenario and how viruses manipulate host behaviour to spread. The event is for ages 14 and over, and booking is recommended though walk-ins may be accepted if capacity allows.
