A lecture titled "Human Somatic Evolution, from New Measurements to Clinical Impact", part of the Dean's Lecture Series at Weill Cornell Medicine. It is presented by Dan A. Landau, MD, PhD, Chair of Systems and Computational Biomedicine and the Andrew H. and Ann R. Tisch Professor of Systems and Computational Biomedicine at Weill Cornell Medicine. The talk covers how every tissue in the body is a mosaic of cells carrying somatic mutations that record the tissue's history, and the technologies his lab develops to read that record. He will close by describing how new ways of measuring shape his department's AI vision, from building datasets that do not yet exist to training physician-scientists fluent in both biology and computation.
