ASL Artist Talk: Patterns and Shapes in Nature is a guided American Sign Language tour exploring the patterns, shapes, and colors of tropical plants. Artist and designer Trevor Baldwin leads participants in recognizing specific patterns among the plants in Brooklyn Botanic Garden's Conservatory, drawing parallels with the fashions of Iris van Herpen. An outdoor seasonal highlights tour follows, expanding the observation of patterns and building an interactive nature vocabulary. The program is designed for the d/Deaf community, and some portions are without voice interpretation.
