ATTENTION ACTIVISM 101 [ONLINE] (Session 2/3) is an online course session held on Zoom. It is offered by the Strother School of Radical Attention. The course surveys the intellectual and practical foundations of the attention activism movement, the movement that has emerged to fight back against the monetization of human attention by concentrated technical and financial power. It draws on texts by Anna Tsing, Natasha Dow Schull, Shoshanna Zuboff, Tim Wu, and Jonathan Crary, among others, asking what the extractive incursions of the Attention Economy mean for shared life in the twenty-first century and how activists are resisting them.
