An exhibition at the Bronx Museum of the Arts in which fourteen New York City high school students present works they curated from the museum's permanent collection, spanning printmaking, photography, painting, and assemblage by eleven artists. The show, Beyond the Margins: Bronx Museum Teens Activate the Permanent Collection, is the outcome of the museum's Teen Summer 2026 program, guided by educators Duneska Michel, Jinette Jimenez, and Madison Green and shaped by three questions: how artists defy convention, experiment with materials, and use their work as resistance. It frames defiance as a sustained practice of surpassing limitations, inviting viewers to consider what it means to push boundaries in everyday life.
