A book launch for 'Americans Without Borders' by investigative journalist Julia Harte, held in conversation with Dale Maharidge. Harte, who covers U.S. national affairs and the Justice Department for Reuters, traces two centuries of Americans who joined liberation movements abroad and were then branded radicals by their own government. Beginning with the death of her father's second cousin, Trotsky's bodyguard Sheldon Harte, the book profiles figures from fighters in the 19th-century Greek revolution to solidarity volunteers in Palestine. Maharidge, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author and emeritus professor at Columbia's journalism school, will interview her.
