Common Sense is a group exhibition that puts America's past in dialogue with its present. It pairs Thomas Paine's foundational revolutionary writings, Common Sense (1776) and The American Crisis (1776–83), with nine contemporary works by artists including Paul Ramírez Jonas, Charles Gaines, Jason Kao Hwang, Öyvind Fahlström, Joyce Kossloff, Hank Willis Thomas, Kara Walker, Maynard Monrow, and Donald Moffett. The works address community, music, and democracy, reframe American histories, and deliver a message that power lies with us. It runs from May 1 to November 8, 2026.
