The lecture is presented by designer Thilo von Debschitz and Simone Bloch, Curt Bloch's daughter, with poet Samuel Haecker reading a selection of the poems. Bloch's satirical works, recently rediscovered and made into a digital archive honored with the Grimme Online Award, offer a deeply personal perspective on life under Nazi persecution. Presented in partnership with the German Consulate General New York, the event ends with a small gift for each guest.", "url": "https://noky.io/en/new-york/events/curt-bloch-and-his-underwater-cabaret-55953/", "official_url": "https://societyillustrators.org/event/curt-bloch/", "image": "https://noky.io/images/83e212d68c33e5561f2f9df539c35a9d0b9ddb7fdb2a1d35eb496aeea48e70a1-2000.webp", "dates": [{"start": "2026-11-05T18:30:00-05:00", "end": "2026-11-05T20:30:00-05:00", "place": "Society of Illustrators", "address": "East 63rd Street 128, 10065 New York", "tickets": ""}], "similar": [{"title": "Lines of Memory: How Survivors, Artists, and Scholars Draw the Past", "start": "2026-11-10T18:00:00-05:00", "end": "2026-11-10T19:30:00-05:00", "place": "Queensborough Community College - City University of New York", "address": "56th Avenue 222-05, 11364 Bayside", "price": "", "price_from": "0.00", "price_to": "0.00", "tickets_url": "", "category": "talks-readings", "tags": ["art/comics", "history/holocaust"], "description": "A virtual lecture and conversation on how the experiences of the Holocaust are visually represented in sequential art.
