Dispatches from the Field is a digital program of The Explorers Club featuring a short talk by a featured speaker, followed by members-only Campfire breakout groups. This edition features Jonathan Shafter and John Malone presenting "Radiation and Resilience – An expedition to the Bikini Atoll". In July 2026, an 18-member team carried out an Explorers Club Flag Expedition to the Bikini Atomic Bomb Test sites in the Marshall Islands, conducting genetic, molecular, and radiological research on the long-term impacts of radiation. The speakers will share the expedition's aims, fieldwork, findings, and how Marshallese knowledge was integrated into the project.
