A book release event celebrating Multitudes, the new book by public health expert Dr. Karabi Acharya. The discussion, moderated by award-winning journalist and philanthropist Soledad O'Brien, takes place in the third-floor Rare Book Room of the Strand Book Store and explores the experiences of Multiracial Americans—a population of more than 34 million who remain among the least counted and least understood. Drawing on research, personal stories, and interviews, the book examines how rigid racial categories shape identity, health, and belonging, and argues for a more expansive understanding of community. Signed copies of the book are available for purchase for those who cannot attend.
