Energy Build is a free in-person workshop at Pioneer Works, part of its adult Continuing Education program, that treats energy as a creative medium for self-care. It is led by exhibiting artist Alex Dolores Salerno and grows out of their neurodivergent and chronically ill experience, their work with interdependence, and their ongoing work with coffee, shown in the exhibition There's no me without you. Borrowing from community 'art builds' held before protests, the gathering aims to collectively build and share energy in a political spirit. Participants tend to their bodies through coffee and snacks, grounding questions, guided self-massage, stretching and free movement, with no experience needed and all ages welcome.
