Filming Filmmakers is a film series of cinematic nonfiction works about great filmmakers, made by great filmmakers. It is presented by BAM Film, provided by the Thompson Family Foundation. The program ranges from Les Blank watching Werner Herzog drag a ship over a mountain and Chris Marker capturing Akira Kurosawa burning down a castle, to Claire Denis observing Jacques Rivette on the Metro and St. Claire Bourne following the making of Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing. Chantal Akerman and Jean-Luc Godard also turn the camera on themselves.
