A cd release event at a record shop, part of programming celebrating Josiah McElheny's exhibition Instrument Object at The Kitchen, which engages the work of ten musical artists through the exploration of color and form. The shop celebrates musician David Grubbs alongside Corbett vs. Dempsey's issuing of the From Red Black to Black, from Blue Black to Black CD, which includes a thirty-minute composition built out of six soundtracks Grubbs composed for McElheny's 2023 show of the same title at Corbett vs. Dempsey in Chicago. John Corbett and David Grubbs will dialogue, then Grubbs performs a solo set; CDs will be available for purchase and signing, and events are free with all welcome.
