An interactive workshop for parents and caregivers on understanding artificial intelligence and supporting children's critical thinking, with children ages 11 and up welcome to attend with a parent or caregiver. The Paley Museum presents it in partnership with Day of AI, an independent nonprofit founded at MIT that helps students, educators, and families understand and responsibly use AI. Through real-world examples, hands-on activities, and guided discussions, participants explore how AI learns from data, why it sometimes makes mistakes, and how to recognize misinformation, bias, and privacy concerns, along with practical strategies for helping children use AI to support rather than replace learning. Participants leave with conversation starters, strategies, and resources from the Day of AI Family AI Literacy Toolkit, developed with Common Sense Media; no prior experience or technical knowledge is required.
