The Great Central Park Hike is a guided trek on foot through Central Park from top to bottom. It is run by the Central Park Conservancy, whose guides point out the environmental benefits of public parks while sharing architectural, ecological, and historical insights along the way. The hike lasts about four hours and covers about 4.5 miles, about 7.2 kilometers, and visitors are told to wear comfortable footwear and bring plenty of water and snacks.
