A talk by Sarah Hurwitz, former White House speechwriter for Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, exploring how an introduction to Judaism class she took in her thirties transformed her relationship to Judaism. In dialogue with Rabbi Koffman, she will share insights on the importance of Judaism in her life and how to seek, question, and make the tradition one's own. The talk opens a programming series for parents to deepen their connections to Jewish life and learning through relationships with PAS rabbis. Hurwitz is the author of 'Here All Along: Finding Meaning, Spirituality, and a Deeper Connection to Life – in Judaism (After Finally Choosing to Look There)', a finalist for two National Jewish Book Awards.
