In Conversation with Merce: New RainForest(s) is a world-premiere dance program of 60 minutes without intermission, presenting Merce Cunningham's RainForest in two parts, anchored by new dances and new video design. It is the fifth project in a series the Merce Cunningham Trust and Baryshnikov Arts Center have run since 2021, initiated by dance artists Claude "CJ" Johnson, Chalvar Monteiro, and Chaery Moon together with filmmaker Alex Munro. The dances are choreographed by Cunningham and the three dance artists, with videography by Munro and live music by David Tudor performed by Composers Inside Electronics. Performers are Zack Gonder, Tamisha Guy, Stephen Haley, Johnson, Monteiro, and Moon.
