The International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church is an observance within the Christian calendar in which congregations pray for Christians who are persecuted for their faith. Calvary Baptist Church holds this prayer gathering in its Sanctuary, following the Equipping Hour. The initiative was launched over two decades ago so that Christians worldwide pray for persecuted Christians facing issues such as government oppression, violence and prison for their faith. Persecuted Christians themselves say that prayer is what they ask for first.
